Erasmus+ „ComMUNity” – wizyta na Łotwie

W dniach od 01 do 07 maja 2022 uczniowie LO w Iłży: Amelia Babut, Katarzyna Dziura, Alan Borek, Michał Kaczor i Filip Tomasik wraz z opiekunami: Ireną Kopciał i Beatą Nadgrodkiewicz przebywali na Łotwie w ramach projektu Erasmus Plus „ComMUNity”. Gospodarzem była szkoła JELGAVA STATE GYMNASIUM w miejscowości Jelgava leżącej 68 km od stolicy kraju, Rygi. Pozostali uczestnicy to uczniowie i opiekunowie z Czech oraz Turcji.

Before going to Jelgava, Latvia, for the next mobility connected with the project „ComMUNity”, the students met in order to get to know with the idea of debating, get familiar with the notions and issues related to the MUN debates and discuss the topics of debating.
From 01 to 07 May 2022 students from our school: Katarzyna Dziura, Alan Borek, Michał Kaczor and Filip Tomasik together with their teachers: Irena Kopciał and Beata Nadgrodkiewicz stayed in Latvia as part of Erasmus Plus „ComMUNity” project. The hosted school was JELGAVA STATE GYMNASIUM in Jelgava, a town situated 68 km from the capital of the country, Riga. The other participants were students and teachers from the Czech Republic and Turkey.

Poniedziałek, 02.05. rozpoczęliśmy od spotkania w szkole, podczas którego wszyscy uczestnicy się przedstawili, zaprezentowali swoje szkoły, miejscowości oraz kraje. Następnie gospodarze oprowadzili nas po szkole, a potem odbyliśmy spacer po miasteczku. Po przerwie na lunch odbył się konkurs filmów nagranych przez uczniów. Poruszyli w nich problemy związane z łamaniem praw człowieka. Zwycięzcą w wyniku głosowania zostali uczniowie z Czech. (Film przygotowany przez Michała Kaczora zajął II miejsce.)

Monday, May 2nd
We started with a meeting at the school. At the beginning all the participants introduced themselves, presented their schools, towns and countries. Then the hosts showed us around the school, and then we went for a walk around the town. After the lunch break, there was a video competition for films recorded by the students. They raised issues related to human rights violations. The students from the Czech Republic were the winner as a result of the vote. (The film prepared by Michał Kaczor took second place.)

We wtorek rano odwiedziliśmy burmistrza Jelgavy. Zobaczyliśmy prezentację miasta oraz usłyszeliśmy wiele ciekawych informacji. Po powrocie do szkoły wszyscy uczestnicy projektu wzięli udział w warsztatach pieczenia tradycyjnych Bożonarodzeniowych „piragów”, które były tak smaczne, że szybko zniknęły z talerzy. Kolejnym punktem programu był Hyde Park Corner Speech. Uczniowie mogli wygłosić przemówienia na wybrany przez siebie temat. Najwięcej braw otrzymał Filip Tomasik mówiący o wadach oceniania uczniów. Słuchającym podobało się też przemówienie Alana Borka.

Tuesday, May 3rd
On Tuesday morning we visited the mayor of Jelgava. We saw the presentation of the city and heard a lot of interesting information. After returning to the school, all project participants took part in baking workshops for traditional Christmas „piragi”, which were so tasty that they quickly disappeared from the plates. The next point on the agenda was Hyde Park Corner Speech. The students could give speeches on a topic of their choice. Filip Tomasik received the biggest applause for talking about the disadvantages of student assessment. The audience also liked Alan Borek’s speech.

W środę 04.05. wybraliśmy się na wycieczkę do stolicy kraju, Rygi. Był to idealny czas na ten punkt programu, bo Łotwa obchodziła wtedy rocznicę odzyskania niepodległości. Zobaczyliśmy więc miasto i jego zabytki w pięknych dekoracjach. Usłyszeliśmy fragmenty koncertów, zobaczyliśmy paradę mieszkańców i chłonęliśmy atmosferę miasta.

Wednesday, May 4th
On Wednesday we went on a trip to the capital of the country, Riga. It was the perfect time for this activity as Latvia celebrated its independence anniversary then. So we saw the city and its monuments beautifully decorated. We heard some pieces of concerts, we saw a parade of residents and soaked up the atmosphere of the city.

Czwartek, 05.05. był najważniejszym dniem wizyty na Łotwie. Uczniowie odbyli symulację debat MUN, do których zostali wcześniej przygotowani. Każdy uczestnik wybrał kraj, który reprezentował. Debaty poprowadzili uczniowie z Turcji, a dyskutowano na trudny temat – obecnej sytuacji związanej z syryjskimi i ukraińskimi uchodźcami. Debaty trwały kilka godzin i wywołały wiele emocji.

Thursday, May 5th
It was the most important day of our visit to Latvia. The students simulated the MUN debates for which they had been prepared earlier. Each participant chose the country they represented. The debates were led by the students from Turkey, and a difficult topic was discussed – the current situation with Syrian and Ukrainian refugees. The debates lasted several hours and caused a lot of emotions.

Ostatniego dnia uczniowie uczestniczyli w lekcjach ze swoimi łotewskimi kolegami, a nauczyciele omawiali szczegóły projektu. Potem pojechaliśmy na wycieczkę na południe kraju, gdzie zwiedziliśmy zbudowany w stylu barokowym pałac Rundale. Po powrocie do szkoły miało miejsce wręczenie certyfikatów uczestnictwa w projekcie Erasmus+ „ComMUNity” oraz pożegnalne przyjecie.

Friday, May 6th
On the last day, the students attended the lessons with their Latvian colleagues, and the teachers discussed the details of the project. Then we went on a trip to the south of the country, where we visited the Rundale palace built in a baroque style. After returning to school, the certificates of participation in the Erasmus Plus project „ComMUNity” were handed over and a farewell party took place.
